Spanish actress Aitana Sanchez Gijon awarded the Goya of Honor 2025
Aitana Sanchez Gijon, Machinist famous for (2004), Parallel Mothers (2021), and A Walk in the Clouds (1995).
She recently won the Goya Of Honor awards 2025.
The Spanish Film Academy announced that Aitana Sánchez Gijon would be one of the awardees in one of the most important and prestigious awards held by the institution. She is its first female president.
The prize-giving ceremony will be held during the gala of the 39th Goya Awards that will take place on 8 February in Granada.
Sanchez Gijon said she was surprised to receive the award, saying that she felt she was still too “young” for such recognition but also thought it that “she was not thinking of rejecting it”.
Each year, the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences confers a special award, the Goya of Honour, on artists whose careers are of undeniable value and relevance. Sánchez Gijón is one of them.
